In the game world, most quarries have open and closed seasons. Closed seasons allow numbers to multiply and to allow game to migrate to different areas to feed and overwinter. If you’re not sure when open season is for the game you like to shoot, here’s a handy guide covering quarry for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as a few rules to bear in mind.

No game may be taken or killed in England on a Sunday or Christmas Day and no game may be killed or taken in Northern Ireland on a Sunday.
