Barley

The UK production of Barley is growing, predictions for 2020 are for just under 8.5 thousand tonnes, which makes this an important UK crop. Barley is well-suited to feed to dogs, it’s a great hypoallergenic grain to replace wheat for dogs with suspected wheat allergies or for those who need ingredients that are easy to digest.  Studies have shown that barley contains high levels of beta glucans which are beneficial for dog’s digestion and can help with hunger management in dogs with big appetites or those who need well-balanced blood sugar levels.
