Salmon Oil

Salmon is a great ingredient to feed to dogs and salmon oil even more so, as this is where the essential fatty acids are concentrated and provide the most benefit to dogs. High levels of omega 3’s docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are concentrated in the oil which studies indicate can help with joint support, cognitive benefits, skin and coat and general health.
We include salmon oil in Dr John Puppy and Dr John Titanium to support puppy cognitive development and provide a boost for adult and mature dogs that could benefit from additional essential fatty acids.
It’s worth knowing that too much omega 3 can be harmful for dogs (and also for humans) so over-supplementing isn’t recommended but complete diets like Dr John Puppy and Titanium with balanced omega 6 and 3 levels will be fine to feed.
